well ladies and gentlemen,
actually that was the motion for SMAN 14 ED.COM's quarter round.
and i saw this round which was SMAN 14 A as the government and SMAN 1 Cisauk as the negative team.
mm..
what makes me so interested to make this motion as my posting right now, is because of one thing.
CLASS MILD MUSIC HEROES.

Class Mild is one of the most popular cigarette brands in Indonesia. And we can see that very lots of smoker use this brand.
Last Saturday, before i watched the FA Cup semifinal, Chelsea vs Arsenal, i saw this Class Mild Music Heroes, Talk Less Do More, program on one tv chanel.
and this program contains the shows of 17 Music Heroes, that have been chosen by sms from the public.
and what makes me really interested with this program, because every 'hero' has to perform at one place, and the places are actually uncommon.
which i saw last saturday was Peterpan at SPBU Cipularang, Project Pop at Bandara Soekarno Hatta, and Yovie and The Nuno at FX Plaza Jakarta.
without you see this event live, you will know that the number of the audiences who sees and comes will be very big.
every person can see and enjoy the musician free!
how entertain and unique this program is!

now come to my point.
how come we can ban this kind of brand, or other brands, or even the advertisement of tobacco[as the material of cigarette itself] ?
they don't show us how bad the cigarette is, or the effect of smoking [though there's notice after the commercial, but it's only less than 2 secs!], or how to smoke very well.
they even show us, how to be a real man, how beautiful the Kecak Dance in Bali, how good Nidji sings the jingle of Djarum Cokelat, and the last is about the awards of 17 musicians's achievement from the Class Mild, that maybe, indirectly, showing us the appriciation of Class Mild to Indonesian Musicians who has made a lot of songs or achievements.
what's so bad with these tobacco advertisements?
Cigarette companies, mostly, give the biggest tax as income for the government.
Djarum Super gives the athletes of badminton scholarships and a special school for them, maybe after they study the students may have badminton practice and make them easier to bring the name of Indonesia with competing in international championship.
or A Mild with their creative advertisements, that actually can stimulate any other brands, not only cigarette brands, to be more creative so they can influence the audience to use their products.
what's so bad with them?
they don't influence the public to smoke directly .
we can say that the smokers decide to use the cigarettes because the society or the environment has influenced and make them to use it, and we know, that cigarettes can effect so bad on the users's health.
it's not all about the advertisements.
but about the environment, or the society,who has influenced them and make them so addicted with the cigarettes.
so i do believe that i would keep the tobacco advertisements on television or any other medias.
and i will say those things, if i am the negative.

now, i will be the affirmative.
why we should give ban for those advertisements?
maybe i only have one point.
the effect of the good things that's shown by cigarettes advs.
the audience who sees or watches the advs., they will see that tobacco companies are so really good, and they may believe that smoking won't bring any deteriment, or at least very very bad effects in their lives.
they see, if u use this cigar brand, u will be a real man.
or if u use this cigar brand, u will help the youngsters who have talent in badminton, will be able to develop their talent really well.
or if u smoke using this brand, u support the development of Indonesian musics.
the society or public maybe has heard about how cool smoking is, or maybe the teenagers have heard that u're not a young generation if u haven't used the cigar yet.
and because of that, they will be the active smokers..
and people who don't smoke, will be the passive smokers, because they still inhail the smoke of cigarettes, ladies and gentlemen!
the smoke, like we know, contains a lot of bad materials that can destroy your body inside.
somekind like those reasons, that actually makes these tobacco advertisement should be banned.
every commercial or adv of one brand won't show the deteriment that will effect the user of the brand.
same with tobacco, as the main material of cigarettes.
they wont show, how bad your lungs after years u use the cigarettes, or the cancer that u really possible have this kind of diseases after years u smoke.
that's why, i do believe that we have to ban the tobacco advertisement.

because this is a practical debate motion, i will give u the mechanism.
how to keep the advs on media if i support them.
or
how to ban them keep showing on media.
the mechanism is:
tell and ask the government.
they have to know how to avoid the society from the danger of smoking
and
they must know how the biggest income for government keep flowing without stopping the advertisement.
